Winter holidays in Villabassa

Winter Wonderland Dolomites… Fun with snow in Villabassa. Even if there is no cable car in Villabassa: The tranquil village scores with its young and older visitors because of its favourable location close to the surrounding skiing regions Sesto Dolomites, Plan de Corones and Cortina.

Every 30 minutes the prefect train connections from Villabassa’s centrally located railway station take you to Versciaco, where the cable car to Monte Elmo starts. From winter 2014/15 you have a direct new ski and cable car link from Monte Elmo to the Croda Rossa. Every half hour the train also takes you to Perca to the cable car for the Plan de Corones.

Free ski buses take you from Villabassa to the Baranci and to the Croda Rossa, to the lifts in Braies, to the Ski Center Rienza Dobbiaco and to the beginners’ lifts in Waldheim.

The skiing region Cortina is also within easy reach of Villabassa.

• Orienteering in Villabassa: Ask at the Tourist Information Villabassa for an orienteering map and test how quickly you can find the listed locations and get your stamp at the control points. Fun for the whole family.
• Ice skating in Villabassa: Gliding across the ice on thin blades... forward, backward, hand in hand. If you fancy, try a pirouette! 
• The Airdome in Villabassa: playing tennis despite the cold season ... 2 art courts with natural sand of the latest generation in the newly built Airdome offers the opportunity to experience the "tennis feeling" all the year round.
