The Dolomites STONEMAN Trail

Cairns along the route mark the trail

The Dolomites STONEMAN Trail is at first a dream – then a challenge – and finally an unforgettable bike experience based on different stages to the most rewarding mountain bike spots in the Dolomiti di Sesto.

These are the facts of the Dolomiti Stoneman Trail marathon:
115 km (71.4 miles) – 4,000 m (13,123 ft) of elevation gain – five checkpoints to pass through. A very tough, 3 km (1.8 miles)-long steep ascent to the Sillianerhütte hut, a single trail and then the 10 km (6.2 miles)-long demanding Demut-Passage on 2,400 m (7,874 ft) height, technically speaking the most difficult part, where especially bike pros have their fun.

Starting points: start your adventure right here:
At the starting area of the Dolomites STONEMAN Trail, participants get their race package with wristband, tour map, elevation profile and giveaways. It is possible to start the Dolomites Stoneman race at four different starting points.

Sesto/Sexten: Stoneman-Spirit-Info-Point, Sport Sexten, Via Tennisweg 6
Sillian: Hotel Bergland
Padola: Tourist office

Necessary checkpoints:
No time measure, seals at the checkpoints are therefore very important!

For laid-back bikers Roland Stauder recommends an alternative route based on three daily stages, without the Demut-Passage: for example starting from Sesto.

Roland Stauder
The former MTB pro Roland Stauder created the Dolomites STONEMAN Trail, as every other trail of this kind. After 10 years of professional biking, being the winner of the World Cup Marathon and Transalp Challenge, among others, the sportsman from the Val Pusteria Valley had the idea to initiate this extraordinary bike adventure.
