CARRYING YOUR OWN BIKE ON TRAINS
Basically you can carry bikes on public transport means just if there is enough space. In the local trains you have the possibility to take the bike with you. Carrying the bike on busses is not allowed, only from Cortina d'Ampezzo to Dobbiaco (attention: only space for 5 bicycles).

To carry your own bike on trains in South Tyrol you need an additional ticket. A one-day ticket costs about 7 Euros. The tickets are available at every ticket machine and also at the ticket windows San Candido and Brunico. Please mind that regional trains are equipped for the transport of 15 - 18 bicycles only. If the on-board bike capacity is fully occupied, boarding with bicycles may be interdicted.

BIKE RENTALS
We consider to use the alternative way to discover South Tyrol by bike, by renting a bike in one of our rentals. The big advantage of renting a bike is, you don´t have to pay the ticket to carry it on train, because there are several staging posts all over South Tyrol. You can just return the bike there and get a new one at another staging post. Here you will find all the informations of the Bike-Mobilcard.
